Barefoot Business
Brand, site, and launch strategy for a no-excuses entrepreneurship book that hit Amazon Day 1.
Overview
Barefoot Business is the true story of building a full entrepreneurial hub in Upstate New York from nothing — no investors, no loans, no fancy credentials. Author Scott Davignon needed a complete launch ecosystem: brand identity, website, interactive tools, and an Amazon launch strategy. 1976 Studios designed and built the entire digital presence for the book, positioning it for an entrepreneurial audience who had been failed by conventional startup advice.
The Challenge
The book market is brutally competitive. Scott's story was authentic and compelling, but needed a digital home that could cut through the noise and speak directly to the 'I tried before and it didn't work' audience. The site needed to be equal parts sales page, storytelling platform, and community hub — without feeling like either a textbook or a typical self-help hustle.
The Solution
We built barefootbusinessbook.com as a story-first, conversion-optimized web experience. This included an interactive 'Barefoot Path' generator (two questions, one personalized first move), a 'Scott TV' video section embedding his raw TikTok-style content, and a tiered book format section with Kindle, Paperback, and Hardcover pricing. The brand voice — direct, honest, a little rebellious — was carried through every line of copy and every UI choice.
The Outcome
Barefoot Business launched July 1, 2025 to immediate Amazon traction with 5-star reviews. The site's interactive tools — First $1 Checklist, Deal Builder Tool, and Use What You Have Generator — drove ongoing engagement and community building through the 'Barefoot Builders' membership arm. The book is available in three formats across Amazon.
